Ruminations on Motherhood

Objective:

Students will engage with the chapter "Cold Heart" and by creating reimagined skits of Lucy's memories about her mother.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.9-10.1.B

Structure:

Students will engage one of the key themes from the chapter, motherhood/mothering/mother-daughter relationships. In groups, students will look at the comparison between the relationship Lucy had with her mother and the one she wanted.

Day 1-3.

1. Break students into groups of 4-6. (5 minutes)

2. Have each group discuss the major issues that emerged in the chapter. (10 minutes)
