Love and Vertigo is a novel by Malaysian-born Australian novelist Hsu-Ming Teo. It was published in 2000 and was the recipient of the Australian Vogel's Literary Award.
The plot of Love and Vertigo revolves around a young Australian woman named Grace Tay who after her mother dies, travels to Singapore to join the rest of her family. In Singapore, she rediscovers her Chinese ancestry, examining her family history, trying to find the reasons for her mother's untimely death.
Love and Vertigo was critically praised. In addition to the Vogel's Literary Award, it also was a Dobbie Literary Award nominee in 2001. The author, Hsu-Ming Teo, has also written numerous other books inspecting Asian values.
