Lord of Emperors Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

Sarantine Mosaic

The Sarantine Mosaic is a symbol of cultural preservation and honor. King Valerius II values the Great Sanctuary because it has a rich empire history. To ensure the integrity of the Holy Place is preserved, he invites Crispin, an expert mosaic, to decorate the entire sanctuary and make it look new again. Therefore, the Sarantine Mosaic is significant to the king and the people of the empire because it symbolizes their heritage and history.

Ghostly fires

The mysterious fires in Sarantine symbolize the supremacy conflict between the competing Empires. King Valerius II suspects his kingdom is in danger, but he is caught unaware before getting vital information from his spies in the neighboring kingdoms. Queen Gisel escapes an assassination attempt when her kingdom of Batiara finds herself in King Valerius' court. King Valerius II's objective was to regain his empire's glory by capturing the kingdoms that once were under the authority of Sarantine.

The symbolism of preservation of life

In the Lord Emperors, the preservation of life is symbolized by art. Art is the heart of Sarantine. King Valerius believes in the power of art and uses many resources to use art as a symbol of life. On the other hand, art is the reason why Crispin is living. Crispin was hopeless when he lost his entire family, but whenever he does a work of art, he becomes lively and hopeful to continue living.
