Little Brother Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

Little Brother Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

The concert in Dolores Park (Allegory)

Organizing this illegal concert, coming to it, being crazy there, teenagers, young people subconsciously wanted to show that they could do something without the attention of the supervisors from DHS. They tried to prove that they were still free people. And this concert became an allegory of their freedom and independence.

Computer age (Motif)

The story is saturated with information about technologies, computers, and it seems that the atmosphere of a story takes a “computer” direction. The author used the help of true, professional computer scientist while writing the work, so the descriptions of all technologies are really vivid, realistic; they actually are the half of the plot, and they “control” it no less than the characters.

Espionage (Motif)

The narrator of the story, Marcus, tells it in such way that it seems that the characters are pursued by the government, the DHS, during every moment of the plot. And they are always in fear of being caught, so that they always try to find some “loophole” to run away of their pursuers, to beat them and win.
