demonizing

The act of trying to turn someone or something into an entity of malevolence or evil instead of addressing specific issues with which one disagrees.

suppress

To actively try to obstruct, restrain or prohibit.

cynicism

A deep-rooted and all-encompassing sense of skepticism and lack of hope that things can change.

insurgent

A rebellious movement against oppressive authority.
