The Subordinate
Paru Amma came to live in the village with her family when she was a child, her father Krishna pillai was a doctor. Paru's father remarried after her mother died, but her step mother didn't like Paru and started torturing her after the death of his father. Paru started working in a neighbor's house to save herself from her step mother's anger.
The Nair family was rich, and the members of the family were kind to her. Meanwhile, in the festival of Krishna Ashtami, Paru met the brother of Lakshmi Amma. Gopalan and Paru fell in love with each other, but he was already engaged. Gopalan spent his time with Paru and went back to the city. Paru started working as a sweeper of the temple. A few months later, Paru realized that she was pregnant and gave birth to a girl Lakshmi.
After spending years in poverty, Paru realized that she was giving the same kind of life to her daughter. This year, the Commissioner and his family came to the village for vacation. One day Commissioner saw Lakshmi working in the temple, and he ordered his manager to bring Lakshmi to his bungalow. Paru Amma was devastated by this order of his manager and knew that she couldn't refuse him. Paru Amma couldn't let her daughter live a life of a mistress so, she decided to kill her daughter than to let her lead this kind of life.
Marriages are made in heaven
Madhavi's parents are planning her marriage because she has turned fifteen this year, and her sisters are also growing up, but they are so poor and can't afford to give dowry, that's why Madhavi is still unmarried; her parents want a guy who doesn't demand any money or jewelry; when she turns 23 the marriage broker comes with a proposal. Madhavi's father and the groom's relatives negotiate the dowry and fix the marriage.
Madhavi's mother in law doesn't like her because she didn't bring enough dowry with her. After the marriage, Madhavi's parents come to meet her and ask her to give her all the jewelry to them because they were borrowed by a neighbor, her mother in law happen to hear the conversation.
Madhavi visits her parents and tells her husband that she will stay here for a few days. After two months when her husband doesn't come to take her so, her parents start to worry and they get to know that Madhavi's in-laws are planning to marry their son to another girl, but the plan of her in-laws fails when Madhavi uses her tactics and intelligence to beat their plan.
