July's People Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of July's People, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

In the Day 1 activity, “Understanding South Africa,” students will use iMovie or Screencast-O-Matic to make a movie.

In the Day 1 activity, “July’s People Class Blog,” students will use Blogger or Wordpress to collaboratively work on a class blog throughout the unit.

In the Day 2 activity, “Apartheid in South Africa,” students will use Glogster to make a multimedia poster.
