    Research

    Objective:

    Students will be able to understand the context in which July’s People is set.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.2, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.6

    Structure:

    To begin the activity, have students do a Think-Pair-Share in response to the following question: How will historians describe our historical context 100 years from now? Have students take a moment to think about the question. Then, they should discuss their thoughts with a partner. Then, have students share their thoughts with the whole class. Take notes on the board.
