Future Home of the Living God is a novel written by Louise Erdrich and was first published by HarperCollins on 14 November 2017. Erdrich is a New York Times bestselling author, with this book making it on their Notable Books list.

This book follows a young pregnant woman, Cedar Hawk Songmaker, as she tries to navigate an apocalyptical style world. Despite being adopted by a loving family, Cedar is desperate to find her birth mother in order to identify why children are born as primitive humans. Along the way, she discovers more than she intends, when she realises that a government conspiracy confining pregnant women appears to be true. Cedar attempts to find more about her birth and her child’s birth all the while trying to steer a dangerous new world.

The premise of the story stems from Edrich’s own background, having been born of mixed heritage: German, French, and Ojibwa. She is a celebrated author and has won numerous awards for her books, including the National Book Award for Fiction in 2012 for her book The Round House (2013).
