Silver mark on the hand (Symbol)

When the dragon Saphira hatches of the blue egg, Eragon has a strange mark on his hand, as if someone has burned his hand. However, as it proves to be, this mark on Eragon’s hand is a symbol of communication with the dragon. He and Saphira are a single whole. Thanks to the silver mark, they can feel each other and can even communicate without words – Eragon and Saphira read each other’s thoughts.

Zar'roc (Symbol)

Zar’roc is a sword. The owner of this sword was Morzan, who was the Dragon Rider. However, he turned out to be a traitor and now the sword is in Eragon’s hands. At first, it seems that there is nothing surprising in this weapon. Nevertheless, the author reveals the secret – Zar’roc sword will kill any enemy of dragons, who dare to destroy them. The sword is a symbol of strength and protection against evil and Eragon uses the weapon proudly.

Magic, good and evil (Motifs)

The motif of the fabulous atmosphere brought up by the author not simply in order to attract readers. The magic that is used by the characters will make the reader believe in miracles and know that all dreams come true. The fairy tale cannot go without the motif of good and evil. At least, we need to believe that good is stronger, and the book demonstrates it. Although the novel is a little naive, but it is very didactic and its fabulousness takes breath away. The victory of good confirms that life is still fair.
