Who do you think Hamm is referring to when he talks about "all those [he] might have helped"?

This is an open question. For students who believed previously that Hamm's story was autobiographical, Hamm's reminiscing about people he "might have helped" may reinforce this impression. Other students may interpret this as providing additional insight about the seemingly-apocalyptic setting of Endgame. Ultimately, however, there is no single correct answer.
