The relationship between Nagg and Nell is very different than that between Clov and Hamm. How does their relationship expand upon the themes of Endgame?

Unlike the relationship between Hamm and Clov, which is largely antagonistic, the relationship between Nagg and Nell is rather more wholesome. These two characters have remained together even in their old age, and continue to show gestures of love to one another, thus demonstrating that human affection still has a place in the bleak world of Endgame. Even still, the decline of their faculties, and their memories of bygone times, also further emphasize Beckett's theme of decay and desolation.
