Analyze a key quote, then prompt students to apply that analysis in their creative writing.

Structure:
In the introduction to "Guess What? I Almost Kissed My Father Goodnight," the author describes what he hoped to convey with the craft of this story, and why. As a class, discuss the following quote:
“The story is told from the boy’s viewpoint because I wanted to preserve the mystery of the father, to show that although some questions are never really answered, there are tantalizing hints and indications.”
