Eclipse Irony

Unskillful cook

When Bella reads Jacob’s letter, her thoughts are interrupted by a burned smell that comes from the kitchen. In her house, “if someone else cooks dinner, it is time to panic”. In this way, Bella ironically hints at the fact that her dad Charlie does not know how to cook.

In perfect security

When Alice decides to arrange a party, she invites Bella and tells her that she will be safe. Bella’s voice turns ironic: “Yes, because a vampire slumber party is the pinnacle of safety conscious behavior”. However, she perfectly understands that Alice and her friends will not harm her.

Glad or not glad

Jacob and Edward both love Bella. Therefore, when Jacob remains in the tent to warm Bella, Edward is skeptical. Maybe, it sounds strange, but Edward admits he is glad Jacob’s presence. Although Jacob knows Edward’s thoughts – “as much as I would love to kill you, I am glad Bella is warm”. This moment is very ironic, because it is funny to keep an eye on the rivalry between these two guys.
