Dial A for Aunties tells the story of a woman named Meddelin Chan, who accidentally kills her date one day. When the time comes to get rid of the body, Meddelin's mother calls her aunties, all of whom are meddlesome and occasionally annoying. But Meddelin's date's body is more difficult to get rid of than she initially anticipated, especially when they ship the body to the wedding of a billionaire (the family runs and owns a wedding business).
The family must put on a good wedding while dealing with the body of her date. To make matters worse, Meddelin's ex-boyfriend and long-lost love comes to the wedding. To avoid murder charges, she must deal with the wedding, her ex-boyfriend, as well as the body of her date.

In their review for the novel, USA Today wrote that: "Sutanto brilliantly infuses comedy and culture into the unpredictable rom-com/murder mystery mashup as Meddy navigates familial duty, possible arrest and a groomzilla. I laughed out loud and you will too." Additionally, NPR named Dial A for Aunties one of the best books of 2021.
