Coraline fancies herself an explorer and spends her free time getting to know her new grounds. She tests how deep the well goes, searches for animals, and seeks new experiences. Coraline's boredom is worst when she is trapped inside and prevented from exploring outside due to the rain. In this case, Coraline seeks attention from each of her parents, both of whom dismiss her promptly after providing a list of suggested solo activities.
