The Campus
The first time Eric Brittle arrives on campus, he is enthralled by the beautiful environment and infrastructure. Eric says, “Oh my goodness, and the campus is so gorgeous." The description of the campus environment depicts a sense of sight. The imagery shows Eric's transformation to a new level of life. Unlike in high school, Eric can make independent choices regarding his future.
The dirty room
When Eric meets the boys for the first time on campus, he is shocked by their unhygienic lifestyle. Eric says, "I have never been more disheartened with male hygiene in my entire 18 years of life." The imagery shows the boys' way of life that is not appealing, and Eric is not ready to be like them.
Bitty
Sitty’s description of Bitty paints a picture of a faultless person and an open-minded young man. Shitty says, "You know what I like about you Bitty? You are a dude from the South, and you are not a bigoted dickfaced cockhole, good for you." Bitty is a freshman on campus, and he looks innocent, focused, and loving. Bitty is not a racist, and he does not treat others badly.
