"The whole thing is bigger than you. What if you find something you're not supposed to find? When you face the truth, what then?"
Although there is a desire to get the truth of criminal behavior, sometimes it is arguably better to leave things as they are. The relationship between truth and justice is explored in this film, as a newly recruited police officer called Domingo struggles with the corruption of the authorities.
"Everyone can be triggered to snap."
Mendoza says this line early on in the film, which seems to foreshadow Domingo's later corruption. Although Domingo stats out as a young man with a desire for justice, the film shows his demise into corruption and violence.
"These are the cases we solve here."
As a newly-recruited cop, Domingo desires to make a difference and to ensure justice. However, he is told to drop the case of some missing farmers, suggesting corruption. Instead, Domingo is ordered to work on the case of a murdered eagle, suggesting that the lives of animals are more valuable than the lives of humans.
