Weir has worked as a software engineer and is interested in physics, mechanics and space. As such, his books are inspired by thorough scientific knowledge, making them engaging and informative.

Why does Jaz get involved with Trond Landvik?

At the beginning of the novel, Jaz is introduced as a poor porter, who is barely making ends meet. As such, she also works smuggling contraband onto the moon.
