Students will be able to research the historical and socio-political circumstances surrounding the start of WWI

Structure:

Find out what the students know about World War I. Break them into small groups and see if they can come up with answers to the following questions without accessing the internet or any research materials:

1. When did World War I begin? When did it end?

2. Which countries were involved?

3. What events caused the war to break out?

4. Who "won" and who "lost"?
