Shotaro Kaneda
Shotaro Kandeda is the leader of a vigilante biker gang, Bosozoku, often referred to as the Capsules. He is rebellious and egoistic, yet surprisingly loyal. He is average height with short black hair and brown eyes. He usually wears a red leather military jacket and biker jeans, with a pink polo shirt beneath the jacket. His best friend is Tetsuo Shima.
Tetsuo Shima
Tetsuo Shima is the main antagonist of Akira and doesn’t look very powerful. He is underweight and scrawny, and of a very traditional Asian appearance. He is fifteen years-old, and is together with Kaori, who is his girlfriend. He is best friends with Kaneda. At the end of the movie, he makes another dimension where he is God.
Kei
Kei is one of the other main characters in Akira. She meets Kaneda and escapes with him when he is looking for Tetsuo, and he is interested in her. She is seventeen-years-old with traditional Japanese features. She is also a part of the Resistance and a conduit of the Espers’ telepathy.
