    To examine how Jewett represents the Maine dialect and how it contributes to the story

    Structure:

    Instruct students to read “How to Talk Like a Mainer” by Michael Erard from the August 2015 issue of Down East (https://downeast.com/dialects/) and listen to some of the accent examples.
