    What is the significance of Ann discovering the holes in Mr. Loomis’ suit?

    It confirms that he has the potential to be dangerous. If he killed Edward, it isn’t a huge leap to think that he could easily kill Ann too, especially if she does not submit to what he wants. He’s already shown himself to have a bad temper and to be a bit pushy and condescending, which makes the discovery that Mr. Loomis killed Edward even more worrisome. Strong responses will recognize the implications of this discovery, in that it is likely foreshadowing a conflict between Ann and Mr. Loomis.
