Listening to the Pond

Kind of Activity:

Objective:

Students will draw upon the text to create an artistic representation of Thoreau's experience at Walden Pond.

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.CCRA.R.7

Structure:

Divide the class into groups, assigning each group a section of Thoreau's text from Sounds. Each group should locate everything that the author describes hearing in their assigned passage.
