Vampires in the Lemon Grove Metaphors and Similes

Vampires in the Lemon Grove Metaphors and Similes

Humanity

Because Clyde and Magreb are introduced as vampires, we get to see how much humanity is controlled by one’s inherent desires and ultimately, their actions, rather than what they were born as.

Good vs Evil

Clyde himself acts as a metaphor of good vs evil. He tries to abide by the rules, but he is also prone to make mistakes.

Lemon Grove

The lemon grove acts as a metaphor for the Garden of Eden. The lemons act to curb Clyde’s desires for blood, but eventually prove not to be enough.

Temptation

Fila acts as a metaphor for temptation for Clyde throughout the short story.
