Students will research and write about one experiment with a utopian society in America.

Structure:

Though written well before the advent of the United States, many of the ideals put forth in Utopia proved to be quite influential on American thinking throughout the centuries. For this activity, students will work in groups. Each group will select one example of an experiment of a utopian society in America and prepare a report or presentation about it. Students may select from the following list.
