Underemployment

The underuse of an employed worker, by either not utilising their full skillset or by employing them at less than full-time or regular basis

Populace

The ordinary people living in a particular region

Meritocracy

A system in which economic resources, power, and responsibility are given to a person most deserving of it based on their skills, education, and talent

Apprenticeship

A system of on-the-job training where a young worker is mentored by an experienced worker

Downsizing

A reduction in an organisation’s number of employees, to maximize efficiency with the least number of employees

Dystopia

An imagined post-apocalyptic state which is typically portrayed as violent, unjust, and inhumane

Luddite

A person opposed to technological progress

Augmented Reality

A technological experience that merges digital content and real-life situations

Genomics

A specialization in biology concerned with genome mapping and the functionality of genomes

Nanotechnology

A branch of technology concerned with using atoms and molecules for industrial purposes, such as creating robots

Farcical

Pertaining to an idea or situation so ridiculous that one cannot take it seriously

Galvanize

Incite someone to take action through methods of persuasion or by exciting them
