Abisavam

Abivara

Abivara is the son of Abisavam. He has been educated overseas at a Western university, but has returned home in order to preserve the traditions and culture of his tribe in order to make true advancement in his country rather than the false progress he sees around him. He brings his friend from university, a journalist named Carlos, with him.

Carlos

Carlos is Abivara's friend from university. They studied together overseas and he has come to live with the Naga tribe and report on their culture. But, when the government begins to take over the Naga land Carlos writes articles for foreign newspapers which tell the world of the corruption happening. His visa is then revoked and he is forced to leave the country.

Sri Ratu

Sri Ratu is the Queen of Atinam. Everything she does is in the name of progress, which to her is having air conditioning and porcelain toilets in every jail cell, while building one high-end hospital that no one can afford for plastic surgery and such. This, in an attempt to ensure that her country doesn't fall behind that of the Western countries who have made so much "progress" with industrialization.

Big Boss

Big Boss is an international millionaire who sends Mr. Joe to convince Sri Ratu to allow him to mine copper from their lands. He bribes her with a diamond said to be worth one million dollars. He has built a religious center for himself and now charges extraordinary amounts of money to corporate executives and rich businessmen in order to allow them to learn meditation, yoga, tai chi and other meditative practices. He says they pay the high price because of their guilt at destroying land and people. And this is his newest business.
