The main paradox in the entire novel is that everyone believes that Demane is a sorcerer, but, in reality, he is not. Demane is an intelligent man who is naturally brilliant because he understands physics and science. Consequently, Demane’s inborn talent helps him to cure people and protect them from death. People believe that Demane is a sorcerer because of his unique talent for curing people without attending medical school. Similarly, Demane is blessed with a big body and energy, which he uses the protect his people from enemies. Instead of using his physical power to oppress people around him, Demane is loving and caring because his mission is to use his talent and energy to protect his people without demanding any favors. -

What is the similarity and difference between Demane and Isa?
The similarity between Isa and Demane is that they are both demigods and belong to the same army, which protects a caravan along the most dangerous road. However, Isa has a small body compared to Demane, who is as huge as a bear. The other difference is that Isa always covers his hair because when it is exposed, it consumes the sun. Additionally, Isa does not speak, but he only sings. Therefore, despite Isa and Demane both being demigods, they have distinct features that distinguish them. -

There is a major conflict between Demane and Isa. Demane is romantically attracted to Isa because of his size and beautiful voice whenever he sings. However, Isa does not approve of Demane’s advances towards him, and he demands respect because they are serving a noble course in their brotherhood services. Isa is the army captain, reminding Demane that their primary objective is not to fall in love, but to safeguard the caravan along the most dangerous road.
