Demane
He is the main protagonist who quits his job to escort his secret lover on a mission through the Wildeeps. He is the secret lover of Captain Isa. He is a demi-God and therefore has supernatural powers. He can detect lies, heal people, and has a great sense of smell. He is referred to as the sorcerer, a name that he hates so much. He wears his affection for Isa on his sleeve and therefore gets agitated that they cannot show their love publicly. He kills Isa by mistake although Isa wanted to be killed by him. His powerful scent of smell was very essential in detecting the tiger and getting ready to defend themselves.
Captain Issa
He is a professional mercenary who is hired by the caravan brothers to protect them on their way to the city of Olorum. He has been described as a beautiful man with a beautiful voice that can only sing. He is super conscious of exposing his hair so he is seen fixing his head scarf all the time. He is in charge of training the caravan band members and he does so tirelessly and with discipline. He is seen to have a troubled past and is often seeking his death. In addition to all that he is also Demane’s secret lover and possesses superpowers as he is of demi gods’ descendant. There are assumptions that he might be over 700 years although he shows no features that can easily help tell his age. He is also very strong which is why he is hired as security by the caravan brothers. He intentionally lets Isa kill him as he does not dodge while they are training.
Dessert bandits
They are a group of bandits known as the Desperados who position themselves along the road to steal merchants from travelers. They attack the caravan brothers on their way to the mother of waters not knowing that they have protection.
Suresh
He is the leader of the caravan band. He is the one that hired Isa and is responsible for his payments. They are on a treasure hunt to the city of Olorum but are afraid of traveling alone because of the danger that is in the WIldeeps. He is very strict while on the journey ranting about how Isa and Demane should prove their worth given he is providing everything for them.
Faedou
He is one of the members of the band. He is injured during training and only believes in God’s healing power. He is very superstitious and refers to Demane’s healing power as witchcraft. He is the gossip slinger of the band.
Cumalo
He is also a member of the band. He is charged with the responsibility of watching over Demane’s pack while he is training. Whereas everyone is afraid of Demane, he is seen not be afraid of him at all.
