CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.6, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.7
Structure:
One of the most important social and political dynamics in The Song of Achilles (as in its source text, The Iliad) is the often-fraught relationship between mortals and the gods. Gods have direct, material influence in the world of the text - they participate in society, form alliances, have children (sometimes with mortals!) and have vices and character flaws. Watch the following video that gives a brief introduction to the Greek pantheon.
