Based on the book's use of foreshadowing, prophecy and Greek mythological structure, students may make predictions about what will happen next.

Structure:
One of the central themes of The Song of Achilles is the question of fate: are our destinies set in stone? Are they shaped by our decisions or forces outside of our control? And what work does it do when the question of fate is raised in a retelling of myth - one in which the events took place long ago, and the audience already knows where the characters wind up?
