I cannot do this alone.

Noah

Although Noah is determined to find his missing sister at any cost, he is not a superhuman. To do what he wanted to do and rescue Megan he needs “to find help”, so he goes to “the bravest kids” he knows, who happen to be his two best friends. There are many moment in one’s life, when he/she says, “I cannot do this alone”. That is the moment, when we really start to value our friends, the moment, when we understand that we might use somebody else’s help. Although Noah is the protagonist of the novel and the extremely brave kid, he wouldn’t be able to cope with all the struggles described in the story by himself. This is the powerful message of the book, no matter how brave, strong and intelligent you might be, you still need friends, for there are many things in a human’s life, which couldn’t be done alone.

We never stop imagining. And we never stop creating.

Mr. Darby

This novel is not only about friendship and fascinating adventures, but power of imagination. A lot of wonderful things such as the Secret Zoo could be created with its help. Mr. Darby says that, “we never stop imagining” and that’s why “we never stop creating”. It is important to let yourself to believe that miracles do happen, that this world is not only rational and practical, but also a little bit magic. The kids who are going to read this story will learn that hard work and dreams lead to creation of wonderful things..

Real friendship was stronger than anything else in the world.

Noah

When Megan is rescued and all of them happily return home, Noah feels “love, joy and relief”. He looks at his friends, sees their smiling faces, realizes, how much they helped him and understands that “nothing would ever divide their friendship – no enchanted lands, no beastly creatures, and not even time”. It is the moment, when he comes to a conclusion that real friendship “is stronger than anything else in the world”. Those who can value real friends are lucky ones and every person should try to be a good friend.

All I know is we gotta help Noah.

Ella

It is clear that Noah is lucky to have wonderful friends. Ella and Richie follow him all the way and despite all the dangers, they continue to move. They don’t know where they suppose to go, whom they can trust and what dangers wait for them. All they know is that they “gotta help Noah” and that is enough for them. This is their obligation as good friends and they do so willingly.
