    How does Richard initially react to Henry's confession? Why do you think he responds in this manner?

    Building off of one of the Thought Questions from Day 2, encourage students to consider both Richard's immediate and ongoing reaction to Henry's confession. Perhaps because Henry is so calm and detached about the murder, Richard is also not particularly shocked or upset. Richard has recently been subjected to a cold winter (physically and emotionally) without his friends in his life and he is most concerned about preserving these connections and helping his friends protect themselves.
