Individual Writing

Objective:

Students will briefly outline a modern retelling of the play.

Structure:

The Room is a relatively modern play, but one that nonetheless shows its age, both in the language used and in the setting itself. Students will come up with a brief pitch (about 500 words) that explores how they would bring The Room into the modern day.

Students' pitches should include the following details:

1. Describe the setting in as much detail as possible. This includes location, period of time, and so on.
2. Describe each of the main characters and how they'll be presented in this adaptation. How do your choices convey...
