The Road the Wellville Background

The Road the Wellville Background

The Road to Wellville is a novel written by T. C. Boyle and published in 1993. This novel is titled after a booklet written by C. W. Post, the founder of a cereal business that soon became one of Kellogg's biggest competitors.

Boyle's novel is set in America, in Battle Creek, Michigan during the time of the booming breakfast cereal economy and growth of those cereal companies, such as Kellogg's and Post. Of course, Kellogg's is present at this time, and one of the characters is a fictional character based on John Harvey Kellogg. Another significant character is Will Lightbody, who makes Kellogg’s angry by using the phrase “the road to Wellville.”

T. C. Boyle is an author, novelist, and short story writer from America. Many of his novels are set in America and tell of historical events that shaped the way modern day America is today. From topics such as cereal companies to the environment and society in upstate New York, Boyle has written a wide variety of topics.

In addition, The Road to Wellville was adapted into a movie with the same name, The Road to Wellville. It was directed by Alan Parker and starred many big-name actors of the time, and was released in 1994.
