Stage Adaptation

Objective:
Students will rewrite a passage from the novel into a scene from a play, then perform that scene.
Structure:
This activity provides students with the opportunity to bring the scenes they have been imagining to life by selecting a scene from the novel and adapting it into a staged performance.
Begin by dividing the class into groups of 4-5 apiece. Each group will select a different scene from the novel. They will begin by revisiting the scene and writing down its most noteworthy features, such as the characters involved, the setting, the main action that takes place, and so on.
