The Poetry of Ada Limón Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of Ada Limón's poetry, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

In the Day #1 activity, "Narrative vs Lyric Poetry" students will use an app to make infographics explaining what makes the poems lyric or narrative poems.

In the Day #2 activity, "Where Life and Poetry Overlap," students will use the internet to research Ada Limón's life.

In the Day #3 activity, "Constellations," students will use the internet to research the different constellations mentioned in the "Dead Stars."
