Graphing the Story

Objective:
Students will be able to think about the shape of the story, to visualize the story, and to grasp the plot of the story.

Structure:
Have students visit the following link. Ask students explore the plotlines shown on the site, and then to identify which kind of story The Old Man and the Sea is so far, with Santiago as the protagonist. Ask them to plot the line of the story on a chart the exists on the site already, or to create a new "Good Fortune/Ill Fortune" story line for Santiago.
