The irony of marriage
Marriage is perceived as holy, and partners are expected to be faithful to each other. Issa's parents' marriage is first depicted as successful and blissful. Ironically, the marriage was about to crumble on accusations of infidelity. Issa's father is a womanizer, and he has affairs outside marriage. When Issa's mother feels that enough is enough, she calls it quits and asks for a divorce. Issa thinks that her mother is the cause of the divorce, but later she discovers that the father caused the separation.
The paradox of the internet
The internet is a powerful tool that changed the way the world operates. For instance, the internet turned the world into a small village because people can easily communicate using video calls and other reliable methods. Paradoxically, the same internet has caused havoc in society because it has promoted sex predation against young, innocent girls. Issa became a victim of sex predation at the age of 11. Issa's confession reveals that she interacted with many male strangers who asked her sexually explicit questions.
The satire of television and media
Television and media are powerful tools that should be used to promote acceptable morals and enhance peaceful coexistence. Ironically, television in this context is used for promoting girls' racism. All the TV series episodes have white characters, which is the only acceptable standard. Black girls are believed to be unappealing because they do not attract any audience. Consequently, television classifies gender based on skin color.
