How might the story be different if Sherlock had narrated it?
Sherlock has a different way of speaking and thinking. His mind is incredibly rational and logical, but moves in a way that may not be easy for readers to follow at first. If Sherlock had narrated the story, it would have been filled much more with his deductions and his process. In doing this, it may have been less accessible. Dr. Watson works very well as a narrator.
