Explain that while feminism is never mentioned explicitly in the play, Ruth’s journey and the play’s events touch on clear feminist themes. The activity today will explore the Women’s Liberation Movement both in Britain, where the play takes place, and in the U.S., where Teddy and Ruth have resided for six years.
