The Happiest Refugee Background

The Happiest Refugee Background

The Happiest Refugee was originally published in 2010 as a memoir by Anh Do. The memoir tells of the journey Do and his family took to escape the war-torn communist country of Vietnam. The family had to sail across the Pacific Ocean, and eventually ended up in Australia. There, they were able to make a happy and contented life for themselves, and they were grateful for what they were able to accomplish. Do emphasizes that luck played a major role in the success of his family in a new plane of existence.

Anh Do was born in 1977 and is an actor and stand-up comedian living in Australia. He was originally born in Vietnam, a country horribly plagued with war and violence. Although Do studied law at the University of Technology in Sydney, he opted to not pursue a career as a lawyer. Anh is married to Suzanne Do, and has four children.
