We simply have to ride out the storm.
Erika Berger and Mikael Blomkvist refer to their current situation as the storm. Mikael who had been tricked into running a false expose on a rich and powerful enterprise through his magazine, Millennium, has been discredited. Since, the allegations were false, he has been sentenced to a three-month jail sentence along with a hefty fine which wiped out his entire savings. As his integrity has been questioned, support for Millennium has been dying out. Their advertisement revenue is dwindling as well as subscriptions, jeopardizing his and other people's career.
Yellow Tractor
When Mikael first meets Henrik Vanger , he is Not convinced if the old man is telling truth about knowing hm before. But when Henrik tells him about a yellow tractor that he himself gave to Mikael, he believes him as that tractor was still in his possession. For him, the tractor is the connection he has with the Vangers.
Closing of accounts
Henrik Vanger tells Mikael that he wants to close his accounts. He means that he wants to make sure that he doesn't leaves any task undone before he dies. This includes discovering the truth about Harriet's disappearance and supposed murder.
Fair-weather sailor
Henrik calls Martin as a fair-weather sailor as Martin is inexperienced about running a company in crisis. He can run the company fine while there are no problems, but when it come to handling the company while there are problems ahead, he doesn't have that kind of capability.
I think this story will make Shakespeare's tragedies read like light family entertainment.
Henrik says this to get his point to Mikael that his family is corrupt, unethical and immoral. He knows that a book written on his family history will be highly controversial not just for the content but of the variety of human nature they possess.
