Her through-line has to do with how when the earth became round it spelled the doom for the black men who were now being put into their place since the white men have been put into their place now knowing the world isn't flat.

Before Columbus is a member of the chorus throughout the play. They illuminate how the white men believing the world was flat also believed that dragons existed in the water. Once they figured out the truth, that the world was round, it put them in their place and thus made them want to put another race, the black man, in his "place."

Voice On The Tee V is heard, and is the voice coming from the television. They report the death of the Black Man, and indicated his age, 38 and that he was a spearhead of the Civil Rights Movement.
