Objective:
Students will research and analyze ancient visual depictions of the Bacchae myth and make connections between art and Euripides' play.

Structure:
Students should be familiar with the fact that ancient Greek art (especially pottery) often depicted scenes from mythology. Show students a few examples of pots painted with scenes from well-known or easily recognizable myths (Hercules, the Trojan War, etc.). Discuss what techniques the ancient artists used to create emotion, indicate action, and tell a story through this medium.
