There are several other books by Mark Twain which can be connected to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

  • The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884) was Twain's first sequel to Tom Sawyer, and is considered his masterpiece. Just as Tom is the main character of Tom Sawyer, Huck is the main character of Huckleberry Finn. It chronicles the adventures of Huck, Jim and sometimes Tom along the Mississippi River.
  • Twain wrote two other sequels to Tom Sawyer. Tom Sawyer Abroad depicts the adventures of Tom, Huck, and Jim, who take an hot air balloon to Africa. Tom Sawyer Detective, which parodies the detective genre, details Huck and Tom's adventures as amateur detectives.
