Chapter 16 - Life Cycle Nutrition: Infancy, Childhood, and Adolescence - Critical Thinking Questions - Page 552: B

Answer

Severe childhood obesity is a life-threatening form of abuse that justifies removing a child from his or her parents because obesity can permanently damage a person's body, and it is the parent's responsibility to prevent that from happening. Children need to be taken care of in their early years to make sure that they develop a healthy body, until they are ready to take this responsibility on their own shoulders. This is why parents need to make sure their children have a healthy diet and aren't overweight.
