There are "bad" forms of cholesterols like low density lipoprotein cholesterols (LDL). This type of cholesterol tends to build up in arteries and narrow the lumens of those blood vessels. This results in reduction of blood flow, and facilitates the formation of clots and blockage of arteries.

There are also "good" cholesterols--high density lipoprotein cholesterols (HDL cholesterols). HDL cholesterols help to transport cholesterols and facilitates their elimination from the body.
