The capillary permeability allows the immune cells to enter the inflamed area. The plasma proteins are also leaked into the interstitial fluid due to this the oncotic pressure increases and the fluids are drawn to the interstitial place. This buildup of fluids is known as edema and it prevents the spread of the pathogens and redirects them to the lymphatic system.
